A booklet that aims to provide both support and resource to anyone in these situations regardless of race, gender, age or class.

“Abuse is a pattern of behavior used by one person to gain and maintain power and control over another.”

My roles as a Designer in this project focused on the roles of brainstorming on the graphic design and illustrations works; organising regular meetings with stakeholders in a participatory approach; designed and developed a curated style guide; and published the booklet in different formats (for print, web and mobile) and marketed awareness on social media.

Summary

Safety at the time of Covid-19 is essentially critical especially for those facing domestic violence in the time of isolation and lockdown. This situation means that a lot of people are going to be quarantined in potentially unsafe situations. This booklet aims to provide both support and resource to anyone in these situations regardless of race, gender, age or class.

Abuse comes in various cloakes of: Physical abuse, Domestic violence or abuse, Sexual abuse, Psychological or emotional abuse, Financial or material abuse, and Discriminatory abuse. The booklet is curated by Psy.M. Aleesha Khan and houses various resources and advice from organizations that are trained in supporting you without the pressure to take action unless you want to. You deserve support and safety.

I seek to actively pay attention as means to mediate sustainable designs by caring for inclusion.
